1. Step 1

   Go to PayPal and click “Sign Up” in the account log-in menu (see Resources).

2. Step 2

   Choose your country and language. For a free account, choose “Personal” and click “Get Started.”

3. Step 3

   Create a username and password. Fill out your personal information and click “Agree and Create Account.”

4. Step 4

   Determine if you want to attach the account to your credit card or bank account, and click “Continue.”

5. Step 5

   Enter your bank or credit card information. With a valid credit card number, your account will be ready to use right away. If you are using a personal bank account, continue to Step 6.

6. Step 6

   To verify your bank account, PayPal will make two small deposits into your account within a few days of signing up. Watch your bank statements for these deposits. When they arrive, go to your PayPal account and choose “Verify My Account” and enter the amounts deposited.
